Operations & Brand Assistant (In-Person, Part-Time)

Hourly Rate: $18–$20/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: 2–3 days per week (approximately 15–20 hours/week)

Location: Houston, TX (In-Studio)

About the Role

Dormeleven is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Operations & Brand Assistant to help support the day-to-day operations of our growing fashion brand.

As our first hire, you'll work directly alongside the founder and gain hands-on experience across nearly every part of the business. While order fulfillment and inventory management are the foundation of this role, you'll also assist with photoshoots, product development, customer service, marketing initiatives, sample management, and studio operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who loves fashion, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants to help build an emerging brand from the inside.

Location & Schedule

This is a fully in-person, part-time position based in Houston, Texas.

No two days at Dormeleven are the same. You're comfortable shifting between fulfillment, production, photoshoots, customer service, and administrative tasks as priorities evolve.

Responsibilities

Order Fulfillment & Shipping

  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with care and accuracy
  • Prepare shipping labels and coordinate daily shipments
  • Process returns and exchanges
  • Ensure every package reflects Dormeleven's premium brand experience

Inventory & Studio Organization

  • Receive and organize inventory
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts
  • Organize samples, fabrics, trims, and supplies
  • Keep the studio clean, organized, and operational

Product Development

  • Prepare and ship samples to overseas factories
  • Track sample shipments and production timelines
  • Communicate with manufacturers regarding sample updates and production needs
  • Assist with quality checks and organization of new collections

Customer Experience

  • Respond to customer emails and order inquiries
  • Assist with shipping updates, exchanges, and customer support
  • Help ensure every customer receives exceptional service

Marketing & Brand Support

  • Assist during photoshoots, campaign days, and content creation
  • Prepare garments and accessories for shoots
  • Help coordinate influencer gifting and PR mailers
  • Support social media and marketing initiatives as needed

General Operations

  • Assist with administrative tasks and day-to-day business operations
  • Restock shipping materials and studio supplies
  • Help prepare for launches, pop-ups, and special events
  • Support the founder across all areas of the business as the company grows

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Positive, professional, and collaborative attitude
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Ability to lift and move shipping boxes when needed
  • Interest in fashion, e-commerce, or entrepreneurship

Bonus Qualifications

  • Shopify experience
  • Experience with fashion or apparel brands
  • Customer service experience
  • Social media or content creation experience
  • Experience with inventory management or fulfillment
